@susieflynn Hi, sorry for a delayed response, I had to double check the bag. The long leather strap is detachable, short chain strap is not. You could remove the chain but it would have to be a permanent thing.Nice thing about this bag, that the chain can be hidden inside the bag while not used. Hope this helps : )
