Coles of La Jolla Decorative Plate by Vernon Kilns, circa 1950s

This vintage plate has a small chip on the underside rim, appears to be a manufacturing error and not damage. It is otherwise in excellent condition. The plate is collectible and condition is fine for wall or shelf display. The plate dates back to perhaps 1950s. Coles was a bookstore that specialized in books about Mexico and Mexican art. A friend of the owner was Theodor Geisel (Dr. Zeuss) who was a guest at book signings in the shop. This plate in blue on white has scenes of the cove and La Jolla landmarks.
