Tip: Poshmark listings show up in Google so find out the exact name of your item (do a quick Google search) and list your item with the exact same title. That way when someone searches for a particular item— for example, a “Cowl Neck Sweater from Banana Republic” your Poshmark listing will show in the Google search. 💕

busygirl88 @luckichuchua Hi! This post is a great idea. My tip is when you order your free priority boxes from USPS, you can also order free...a big roll of priority mail stickers. I think there’s 1000 in a roll. Add them to your re-used boxes that dont say priority mail on them, so it’s clear they are priority mail packages. Hope this helps😁.

My 1st year I spent obsessing on Posh - on it all day, every day - sharing, following, and building followers; I still share, but following doesn't take up as much of my day. Even if you only list 1 thing a day - do it consistently, and your sales will build! Happy Poshing!😁🤗

If you need to ship something, a good place to get shipping boxes is from the big box stores either late at night close to closing plus very early in the morning for the 24hr stores. I would go in an hour or so before closing & request from the dept manager &/or the store manager the size or # if boxes I need.

1dayatatime020 @luckichuchua I know but when you have a need for just smaller than or just larger than USPS Priority Mail shipping boxes, it's great way to ship! All you need to do- after packaging it nicely; inserting a thank you card; then taping it(them) up- is wrap it(them) in brown craft/shipping paper, taping it(them), put the label(s) on & then ship it(them.)

kristy_farrell when you recycle boxes with print on the outside, just seperate the box where the seam is and turn inside out!Looks like a brand new, generic box!!...(of course, tape it back up and tape well... you can Even ask your friendly postal worker for free priority tape:))

allexisstyle @luckichuchua I wanted to pass on a tip just incase no one knows about this. There is a MY USPS App and you can schedule a pick up for your packages (when your mail runs) the next day on it. Also once you print out your labels you can scan the barcode on your phone with the app. It’s really great!

mmcduffey Also, one if the reasons I love PM is buyer’s love notes! Please write a personal thank you to your seller as opposed to JUST rating them. I kinda don’t like that everyone expects & gets a 5 star rating bc it sorta loses its meaning, but the extra note tells more. It makes a seller feel good to have an item appreciated. Love notes encourages more listings by the seller rather than them just dropping off to Salvation Army, etc. & earns the buyer a look from the seller into their closet!

hayhaywayway Hello! My tip would be to have great communication with your buyers. Thank them! Notify them when you plan to ship. If they’re a returning shopper, I let them know that I recognize that & usually include a small free gift after their 3rd buy. Build rapport as if it was your own business! 1916stanfordst In regards to the $3 items: For my clothes closet, KatzKloset all similar low cost items are placed in a collection and sold for a higher price, like the awesome clip on earrings I’ve collected for years but seldom wear any more. I clear space for new items and my fellow Poshers get more at a good price! Also consider using those $3-$7 items as free gifts with purchases of set amounts (great incentive to increase sales) or as unexpected free surprises to delight loyal buyers!

I don’t want to be like that pushy saleswoman in a store because they may be compare shopping with other closets among their likes. But then again, they could be waiting for me to provide a shipping discount. What’s the customary wait time?

mariaparz318 And being on the other end of that as a buyer, I have had offers that I really didn’t want and so I declined and then left a message with an explanation and thanking them for the offer. I even say I will share that listing to boost its sale. I don’t think it’s polite to ignore and let the time run out. At least decline without any explanation, if you must. Anybody else get annoyed when people just let the offer run out?

jacydesignart Hello Poshers, go to sample sales where you'll find items at inexpensive prices. Then list them in your closet for a fair price, you've spent little on the item, but are still making a profit. Keep an eye out for companies going into bankruptcy or out of business. Sometimes they are away and often will send a nice rating and comment even a week later, but if you bugged them about it, they probably won't rate or leave nice comment. But I asked everybody everything when I first came and maybe they didn't know the answer but not one person ever said no. Don't be shy ask! and remember you can't go over 500 characters!

Where I say read the guidelines do this do that do this and don't be afraid to ask there's videos on YouTube We all had to ask at the beginning. don't be shy people want to help. And I mix them up and make sure I get the ones from the bottom I'll get maybe a top or bottom a pair of shoes a purse completely different types of items. If someone follows me I always share their items. It is very disheartening when they choose to follow me and they don't share mine back.

pixiedustpj @luckichuchua that's another reason my mailman wants to kill me when I print out the shipping label I schedule a pick-up for the next day. it also helps your shipping time average when you print the label it all say on the top of the label the day that you printed the label . I tend to watch as the shipping is going and since this whole pandemic has been going on and everything's been slower I try to give them update on where their package is because it certainly doesn't get there in three days. So three days later all say well the package is now in your state so it should be coming soon so if there was more anticipation and they know that I care.

pixiedustpj okay here's my tip of the day I don't know if it's already been said I read through a lot of the tips but what I don't think people read Rd things that are prohibited to sell. I've seen so many people sell prohibited items I don't say anyting I don't know what to do so I just let it go. But I once bought perfume here so I thought it was okay to sell perfume.

pixiedustpj so I later found out that I was reported I got a big red X against me for an entire month and if I continued to sell perfume I would get my closet close down. So I try to tell the new poshers I get to read the things you can't sell and it's not an exhaustive list but as of tell him that I know replicas, nail polish, perfume, medical devices, Pharmaceuticals vitamins. You can't do an outside sale. I have warned so many people about perfume and they blow me off.

pixiedustpj see I talk a lot. I see a lot of people selling nail polish. Someone will report them I got reported the next day and I was absolutely shocked. Eventually I found it in the rules. They send out to poshers items that people have reported and they asked poshers their advice. Do you agree if it's a replica do you agree if it's a mistagged brand? Some people write in the description this is a replica. so FYI no perfume no nail polish no replicas. DON'T get yourself in trouble.

If someone shares your items have the same respect and sense of community to share at least one or two of theirs it all comes around in a circle like someone already said about Karma. corinneeliza896 What a great idea...love this❤️my tip would be to invest in a small steamer...I see so many sellers post photos of wrinkled clothes...it only takes a few moments to steam them out‼️My second tip would be a fuzz remover...makes sweaters look brand new‼️Clothes that look like new and loved sell much quicker...And lastly...very detailed photos and descriptions so nothing can come into question ❣️Happy Poshing❤️

I really wish people would share the love back. some do some don't. But it makes a great difference when they do and then I have some people that we've never even communicated with each other for some reason they just see I have something new and they post it

pixiedustpj @greatful4grace agreed. I like to share a little bit of everything in their closet because some people have makeup and then shoes and then pajamas and then sweaters and then jeans and I'm jewelry so don't just stop at the beginning and it gives a chance for everything to rotate!

pixiedustpj actually on the blog they said to take pictures and have everything in front of a completely white background. That's a tip from Poshmark. My tip is please don't take pictures of your clothes that are thrown on the floor to take a picture. That looks so dirty. And perhaps iron your items before you take pictures.😁😁😁😁😁

pixiedustpj read the community guidelines. There are so many prohibited items that people don't know about. You cannot sell fragrances AKA perfume. You will get a slap on the wrist and they will tell you they will suspend your account if they find out you've done it again. No replicas, no nail polish no use makeup no used underwear which honestly I don't know why we have to say that!

The fragrance in the aerosol products are a problem with USPS when they are flying. Let him go I don't know if someone is already written this tip because I haven't read all of them but I had to say it

pixiedustpj @busygirl88 you're totally right and that totally helps. I was looking for my role of priority stickers the other day because I was using a brown box. I couldn't find any so what I did was took the priority envelope I had and cut out the priority mail icons off of it and taped them on the brown box. they also give away Priority Mail tape. I managed to get two of those.

I also managed I don't know what they're called to get clear Pockets that are adhesive on one side so you take off the backing and in the pocket you put the paper with the address and return address the mailing form and stick it straight on to the package. So you don't have to waste packing tape pasting over it again and again. maybe they sent it to me because I asked for overseas Packaging.

In the six months I've been a Poshmark Ambassador I've gotten back two answers out of hundreds of post I sent welcoming giving advice not even a thank you. I got one which was how do you sell a replica on Poshmark. I had already told her you could not. And just the other day I got a wonderful woman who wrote me back and thanked me I was the third person to give her advice and she was so excited

pixiedustpj start an inventory sheet I should soon as you start selling. Mark where the item is how much you paid for it etcetera. You would be surprised how fast if you are a Shopaholic that your inventory will grow. It might get to the point that you can't find things. and you're definitely not going to remember how much you paid for an item in order to make sure you're getting a good enough amount when you start to discount it. Also save all your receipts.

pixiedustpj talk to your accountant and see if this counts as a real job or whatever and Maybe you can use a reseller's tax certificate and if you buy things to bring it in with you so you don't have to pay tax. Now I don't know about taxes I'm not a tax accountant I don't give tax advice I'm just offering this as a thought to investigate on your own. I truly don't know because I haven't done my taxes this is my first year of Poshmark.

busygirl88 @pixiedustpj Hello! The priority tape comes in pretty handy I think. I use it often, b/c I try to reuse boxes, even if they aren’t priority boxes. I’ve seen those label sleeves on packages I’ve ordered from other poshers. I would love to find those. I use tons of tape, cuz I’m afraid the weather might wash away the details on the label. Mail these days has been slow enough 😂😂.

I would have saved myself so much time if I had included it from the beginning. Great tip! Actually a posher who has become a repeat buyer told me that she was so thankful that I included the measurements. She usually ends up with smaller earrings than she wanted. And if they just put a 5 yes I'm happy, but what did I do that was special that you gave me a five? One woman I wrapped every single thing she bought for Christmas, put bows on everything, and Christmas tags on everything. I used extra thick high quality wrap. I spent two hours on her package. I gave her free stuff galore. I got a "great, thank you." So disappointing.

Every buyer from me always gets something little cute and extra if not something huge and extra depending on my inventory. and if whether they are very repeat buyers and we have formed a relationship. If they are sellers I share my stickers with them because I'm a sticker hoarder. I've gotten things just thrown in a box with nothing and I'm supposed to give them a 5? that's not "excellent." 🎁🎁🎁🎁💗💗💗💗

That's why I if someone hasn't read this or heard this yet (8/4/21) USPS is going to slower. Despite the two-day notice they have written on our label. They say it's going to take at least 5 days to get from one coast to another. My mailman said they don't have enough trucks.

I don't want you on top of me like a Rottweiler because I happen to like your item. And I put plenty of notices in my closet though pretty large that two items equal a bundle. One item does not equal a bundle, unless it's a baby. LOL. if you put one item in a bundle it'll just sit there. my prices are already the lowest.

That's how much effort I put into my boxes. so I don't even count how much time I spend. We always think about how much we paid for the item and how much we're getting for the item but we're not thinking about how much time we are spending on Poshmark. and wrapping it and all of that!

I've seen the stats on one party that 123,000 items were posted to that party. so when you think about it you can post your item multiple times because you never know who's going to be on the party when and who's going to see it. I'm glad you brought that up. people want to see how to take care of it and I know I have one blouse that might not ever get sold because it's dry clean only. But I'm not going to keep that from them. Frankly I think half the dry clean only you can hand wash and hang up and then steam out the wrinkles but what do I know?

dianesteinberg I go to some parties where I don't have the right items for sale - I find closets that have about 100 to 200 items, and share at least 15 of their items - Most sellers share back.This spreads my items out to more buyers 🛍 Happy Poshing to All, Diane
