proverbs_31 I'm slightly embarrassed to admit... I once spent $800 on clothes etc to go on spring break!! That didn't include the travel expences, just clothes! No self-control. No discretion. And at the airport in Mexico, a local asked if we were MOVING THERE, because my best friend and I had SO MANY bags with us (one full luggage bag for shoes alone!). SMH. Ridiculous. But we had a fun trip, and we were prepared with plenty of options for what to wear!!

paicar @proverbs_31 @callie5510 @vashby @aflattery ok, since we're on the subject of "hiding", I admit it, I hide clothes while I'm still in the store, this buys me some time so I can bring my daughters back to the store to show them what I found rather than buying and returning. Once we return to the store I always find the gems right where I hid them...... although I do get some strange looks from other shoppers who wonder how I found such cute girl clothes in the men's department, lol!!

poshgarden @debbimiller I've done the same thing and totally forgot about the stuff, hide and cram method! @vashby The store clerks must hate people like us when we don't come back and purchase. Or in my case, I hid it from the 🌎 and myself 😁

smchop I've been on several shopping sprees lately after selling a small rental house. My vehicle is filled with bags! There's no way I could possibly bring them all into the house at the same time without my husband melting down :o so I've been slowly bringing them in a few at a time while he is at work. Same with package delivery. Glad that occurs when he's at work!

babysinblue1 @proverbs_31 I'm dying laughing with commiserations here. Too many times I've had to buy luggage on vacation just to bring my new bags home. A couple of weeks ago my son actually told me to stop buying him clothes 😳 he said "I'll tell you when I need something ok" I just laughed and said "yeah more fun for me"....thanks for the stories

proverbs_31 So today I told my husband that I was running out to get groceries for dinner.... but I knew of a sale going on today so first I stopped and bought a pair of boots and 2 scarves lol.... then on to the grocery store. And nonchalantly put them behind some coats just inside the door 🙈🙈🙈 Not that my husband would care, but I felt bad that I didn't tell him my plans, and that I was later than expected... But it was a really good deal!!!

proverbs_31 @meg23 yes, I did! It was kinda funny because I had been talking about going to the grocery store, contemplating when to go to avoid it being crazy busy... Then I went clothes shopping first and played it off like the grocery store was crazy busy and I hit rush hour traffic 🙈

When my husband and I are getting ready to go somewhere I like to dramatically flop on the bed, Scarlet Ohara style with the back of my hand to my forehead, and moan, "I have nnnnoooothing to wear!" This is funny because I could clothe a small village in designer threads and have some leftover, lol. And speaking of stash and dash, my husband once responded to my theatrics with, "oh you poor thing, why don't you check your trunk?" Lol!

proverbs_31 @nounee Hi there! Welcome to Posh! 💜 For the spaces between paragraphs, there's a button on my keyboard on the bottom right that looks like a big arrow. It jumps to the next line. I don't know if it's the same on all phones? Hope that helps! I'll tag you in a thread I started for New Poshers too, maybe you'll find some useful info 😊

dudsmom I signed up on Freecycle, this is where you can get or give things away for free... On several occasions I've told my hubby "oh I got that from someone on Freecycle" when I had actually made some purchases. I bought a brand new Cricut machine which I use for scrapbooking ($200), told him someone on Freecycle gave it to me......really, you believe someone gave away a $200 craft item that has never even been out of the box! Love that man❤️

mailteresa2day WOW,,, there are others that truly can identify with what I have finally admitted to calling a real shopping "addiction." It seems to come & go with me in phases but when it hits I have no control & whether I have the money for it or not, if I like it, I buy it. Now, having lived in the same house 14 years, having hiding places of stocking stuffers, etc. as early as Mar. by the time Christmas got here I had no clue where that "safe place" was where I hid $400 lottery scratch offs.

mailteresa2day I've also done what @tammycrane did and spent $1,200 on eBay due to bidding wars and ended up with having to secretly sneak in designer clothes for my 3/4 y/0 (like she needed or wanted every outfit yo be Greggy Girl or Baby Lulu or Hannah Banana.

mailteresa2day I would get buyers remorse many times but when I did I could NEVER find the receipts to return the items or the receipts would be expired.., that was a $700 bad day walking only half-way through Gardenridge or Hobby Lobby thinking I suddenly knew how to be crafty and make jewelry. It's embarrassing to admit but it's like an impulsive obsession to buy whatever the hell you want 🤖👽 Alien Posh Hopefully I'm not the worst of "us" just glad we can life about it!! 💖

eliiizaabeth I love these stories! The best one I can think of at the moment is when I first discovered PM, I was getting a bunch of packages in the mail and I told my husband I bought them on "accident" because I didn't understand how to use the app! 😂

sgt_wunder I discovered Posh a few months ago and my days just FLY BY while looking at closet after closet after closet. And buying from closet after closet after closet! Our daughter goes to school out of state and my husband recently quit his job so we could move closer to her. Well, i failed to think about this when i ordered a thousand bundles (exaggeration).... So every day around mail time i try to think of something yo get him out of the house so he doesn't see how many packages get delivered!!

kat0110 My excuse for my husband when several packages come is that I'm looking for a specific (insert item here) and returning most of the things I bought! (I do actually return whatever doesn't fit lol). I live below my in-laws and am always trying to sneak to grab my packages before everyone sees! The other day I accidentally opened a box that was for my brother-in-law bc it was boots and I just assumed all shoe boxed shaped packages were for me!! 😂😂😂😂 (It was his fiancé's Xmas present lol)

lil_livs I have literally ALL my packages sent to my best friends house so my parents don't think I shop as much as I do.😬😬😬 ALSO I never cash out my poshmark credits because that way when I buy something it doesn't show up on my bank statement so my mom doesn't know I got something new..... Oops 😂 OR if I do get a package I tell my dad it was a trade (when most of the time it's not)

sunnydinsd Yes, it's true why I started selling on Poshmark. I was a mindless shopoholic! I had clothes in one of my three closets not even my size New with tags on ! I am still on a closet clean out and very happy to donate to non profits too. Appreciate everyone being honest 😇 and sharing. Foot Surgery has left me not able to wear most of the shoes I own so the closet clear out continues. I adore all of you in the posh community 😘. Love hearing your testimonials !!!

proverbs_31 @sunnydinsd Girl I hear ya! I had items with tags too, that I'd never wear now! I never remembered to return anything!! And I had foot surgery too, for a bunion. It was a more invasive surgery than most bunion surgeries, plus it got infected. I cannot wear the heels I used to love and I'm a total shoe girl! It's so sad!! I gave away like 75 pairs of shoes before I found Posh 😭😭😭 Now it's great though, especially when my weight fluctuates!

sammy @proverbs_31 I live alone so I don’t have to the tons of boxes that have come here. I spent so much money on PM on “good” buys. But when u add them all up not so good. I never wore anything twice except pants and shorts this whole year. That’s bad. Just hoping most of the styles are the same next yr. we are having a bad heatwave so still summer clothes! I stopped or cut down very recently. My house was filling up!
