Is it possible to make these open wedding bands?
lcook1187
@joshisposhin let me know about them potentially being open bands so I can move forward! :)
joshisposhin
@lcook1187 Absolutely! Sorry for the wait. While I’d love to accommodate, I wanted to share that creating an open band requires a different manufacturing process to ensure the ring remains durable over time, especially with the Moissanite stones.
joshisposhin
@lcook1187 For a design like this to have long-term strength and structural integrity, I would recommend creating the bands in gold (I offer 9k, 10k, 14k, and 18k options), as silver is much softer and less reliable for an open style, particularly in a half eternity setting.
joshisposhin
@lcook1187 No pressure, but if something like that piques your interest, I'd gladly discuss pricing and options with you for customizing the rings in gold.
lcook1187
@joshisposhin could you possibly let me know pricing for doing the rings in platinum? Thank you so much!
joshisposhin
@lcook1187 Of course, I can! For the open half eternity band in platinum, let me check my design software and calculate the costs. I’ll get back to you as soon as I have a quote ready.
Thank you very much.
lcook1187
@joshisposhin great, thank you so much!

@lcook1187 Hey there,
I just wanted to check in and let you know I haven’t forgotten about you! I’m still working on finalizing the pricing for your custom piece - it’s a priority of mine, and I’ll have a quote for you soon.
In the meantime, I wanted to share something I’ve figured out while working through the details.
joshisposhin
@lcook1187 Platinum, while beautiful and durable in many settings, is relatively soft and prone to bending in designs like this. It's just too soft to use, and I wouldn't want it breaking on you because of its softness. This increases the risk of the stones loosening or falling out over time.
joshisposhin
@lcook1187 Instead, I’d recommend 10k or 14k white gold. Both are much harder and better suited to keep the band sturdy and the stones secure. I’ll include options for both when I send over the quote.
Thanks so much for your patience, especially with the holiday rush. I’ll be in touch soon!
joshisposhin
@lcook1187 Sorry for the wait! Taking Poshmark’s 20% fee into account, I can make both rings open for you in 14K white gold for $1,064.00. This price includes free Poshmark authentication and shipping once they’re completed.
joshisposhin
@lcook1187 If you prefer 10K gold, I can do both for $1,020.00. These prices allow me to cover my fees while still giving you the best value possible.
Let me know if you have any questions or need help deciding.
lcook1187
@joshisposhin I understand your logic, but these are to go on either side of a platinum engagement ring, so I would need them in platinum. Would you mind sending me a quote? Thanks so much!!
joshisposhin
@lcook1187 Hello there! I do completely understand that you’d like the metals to match since your engagement ring is made of platinum, and I really, really wish I could make it work for this design. Unfortunately, with the thinness of the band and the stone settings, platinum is just inherently too soft for this style, and I wouldn’t feel comfortable creating something that might not hold up the way it should, even if it means I lose this sale.
joshisposhin
@lcook1187 Gold is absolutely an option if you decide it’s right for you, but I totally understand if you prefer to go in a different direction. I’m not the type of jeweler to push anyone in a direction they’re not comfortable with—I just want to ensure you get something that lasts and looks beautiful for years to come.
Thank you so much for understanding and considering my work, and I hope that we can work together in the near future. Merry Christmas! 🎄
