DENNIS MILLER “Surfer Dudes” Medium: Gouache On Watercolor Paper. Signed.. About the Artist Artist's Statement Although I have always been interested in art, I chose a different career path to make a living. Upon retiring, I became a student and then teacher of oil painting on Long Beach Island (LBI), NJ - reawakening the passion for painting that I have pursued ever since. I currently exhibit my work at: Firefly Gallery , Surf City, Long Beach Island, NJ Tuckerton Seaport , Tuckerton, NJ Tuckerton Municipal, Tuckerton, NJ Timmy D's Restaurant , Cheltenham, PA My work has been shown in LBI’s publication The Sandpaper .and also in the LBI Vacation Guide 4 years in a row. I received an award from the Cheltenham Center for the Arts , and in 2013 was named Artist of the Month at the Pine Shores Art Association (PSAA) in Manahawkin, NJ. Since then, I received awards for ' Mesmerized ', ' Yee-Haa ', ' A Touch Of Dutch ', and ' Parapluies ' at shows at PSAA. 'Yee-Haa' was also selected for the March 2016 newsletter cover of the Philadelphia Sketch Club. Four of my paintings were published in the Philadelphia Sketch Club portfolio - Oct 2020 issue . I received awards at the Pennsylvania Watercolor Society for ' Reflections ', at a Philadelphia Water Color Society juried show for ' A View Of Atlantic City ' and ' Parapluies ', and where I was also honored with Signature status.
