I remember these in use as far back as I can remember- back to the days when the milkman delivered glass bottles of fresh milk to the insulated aluminum box that sat outside your house door! This 4 ounce size are the thick walled miniature bottles that restaurants and diners served cream in for your coffee or tea before the little thimble cup sized plastic containers of - how do they process them so they remain shelf stable for about forever? and dry cremeora - became available! Lids, if they were used at all as they'd only be lidded upon arrival from the dairy after which they cycled through repetitive dishwashing and refills, were just round tabs of cardboard with the dairy's name or logo on it! very cute! useful in imaginative ways - as 4:ounce measure for cooking or baking,as generous shot glasses for straight-up libations or jello shots,to hold toothpicks that come in cellophane packets, qtips, beads for crafting, sea glass - which I love - and/or small shells, the loose button that finally quit holding on until you get around to sewing it back on, and - you tell me what usef
