Damaso Gallegos was a well-known Taxco artisan- a silversmith in Taxco, Mexico
He gained experience working in Hector Aguilar’s Taller Border Workshop- one of the most highly regarded silversmith workshop before starting his own business on 1941
Damaso Gallegos workshop was called La Amatista -The Amethyst
He worked from 1940 to the 1970’s
He died in 1976
His wares were sold at Rancho Alegere - a shop in business in mid 1950’s that sold goods by many recognized Taxco silversmiths
