Geometric modernist candle holders designed by Damian Garrido.
A beautiful sculptural piece, created in Madrid Spain in the silversmith workshop of Damián Garrido, back in 2002. This architectural pair of modernist chandeliers was carefully crafted in solid .925/.999 sterling silver, with a high polish finish. These pieces are part of the "Figure" collection designed by the second generation of Garrido, Juan Paloma Garrido. Each piece was individually built with modernist patterns, geometric shape and very clean lines.
This suite of two pieces is the number 4 of a limited authorized edition of 12. Has a full mounted measurements of 400 mm by 197 mm by 140 mm (15.75 x 7.75 x 5.51 Inches). Can be displayed together as a single piece or individual.
Stamped, with the maker's mark, the Spanish control hallmark for the assay of the silver, the edition number and signed, "DAMIAN GARRIDO 4/12 STERLING SILVER".
Damian Garrido, born in Spain in 1931. He completed his training at the School of Arts and Crafts in Madrid, and by nineteen had become a master in his field. Countless hours would be spent from then onwards to the study of works from past centuries, which would soon inspire intricate works of his own. He was attracted to works from very different periods and origins, but he wanted and knew how to make interpretations of all of them that implied variations with respect to their original models.
