“Hope not ever to see Heaven. I have come to lead you to the other shore; into eternal darkness; into fire and into ice.”
Like your jewelry to mean something? Wear a necklace that tells an entire story, with my handmade literature necklaces! This one depicts Inferno, the first installment of The Divine Comedy, a timeless epic by Dante Alighieri.
This necklace features (from right to left when worn) a wings charm, to represent the spirit of Virgil, who guides Dante and enables him to get past those who try to hinder him since he is a living soul. Next is a cross charm, for the importance of Christ in the story, as those in Hell's first circle were not sinners but born before Christ. Next, a devil charm, for the devils led by Malacoda that try to stop Dante and Virgil in the 8th circle of hell. In the center is a book cover pendant. Then an angel charm, for Dante's beloved Beatrice, now in heaven. Next is a map legend compass charm, to represent Hell's intricate structure and the great journey of Dante and Virgil. Last is a number 9 charm, for the nine circles of hell. This necklace has been newly handmade, adjustable from 18 to 24 inches (can be altered upon request).
