So many European countries do not even believe in homework they don't even know what it is those kids & they go to school less hours, less days & are academically superior, speak multiple languages & have drastically less behavioral issues it's so ridiculous the U.S. thinks just work them to the bones & thats all that matters smfh

bean5669 @bella4 I watched a whole documentary on the other countries practices and how far better their children are and how drastically less they work on "school work" they concentrate on LIFE SKILLS as they grow instead of nonsense that they'll never even use in life! They act like they're in college in friggin 3rd grade smfh

bella4 @bean5669 I know!!!!! There are some states in the Midwest that also do that. The teachers don’t believe in giving hw. I wish our state would consider it. It’s getting worse year after year. I’m just drained.

bean5669 @bella4 yeah last yr his teacher never gave homework she wanted them to read instead which I agree but it's just the whole culture here I don't agree with, the amount of work, hours per day, days per year etc etc etc it's just TOO much for children -i mean high school age OK but I can't believe the focus they put on work for LITTLE kids it's just unhealthy it's too much pressure then they wonder why these kids are suicidal at young ages & have social issues smfh

bella4 @bean5669 I completely agree with you. It’s major overload. And if your child plays a sport forget about it try fitting that in along with school work. I have friends whose children don’t even have a social life because they’re involved in everything from sports to dance to school events school play talent shows. It leaves no time for friends

bean5669 @bella4 yep exactly my nieces do sports, dance, CCD, gymnastics, cheerleading, instruments etc etc etc my sister runs from place to place doesn't even get home til 9pm for dinner on school nights! It's ridiculous!

bella4 @bean5669 poor thing !!!! Ughh we were getting back from soccer near 10 pm !!!! It was insane. Hw and bed. I honestly have to think about fall soccer ⚽️ I don’t know if I want to sign roc up again. I know the work load is going to get worse in 6th grade. Not sure if he can handle It. He’s been playing since he was 5

bean5669 @bella4 I kno Gianni didn't play baseball this year he said it's too much right now he needed a break & I don't blame him bc he has a hard time with reading comprehension & remembering etc so he needs extra help so he gets extra assignments, extra reading time AND he does a 2 week summer reading program at his school so it's like alot on a 3rd grader then to have to worry about practices & games it's not right

bean5669 @bella4 I don't care I let him go play AS SOON as he gets off the bus he does his math which takes him 5 min bc it's easy for him then he plays outside with his friends til dinner and he usually does reading work after that bc their brains need a rest! When his bus picks him up at 7:40 and he doesn't get home til almost 4pm! That's a long day for a 9yr old!

bean5669 @bella4 but then there are days when we have no choice but to do homework all evening & I feel horrible for him it's ridiculous smh but I try my best to let him have his outside play time as much as possible first bc they really need a balance it's too much

bella4 @bean5669 I know. I totally agree with you!!! They have no idea these kids brains shit down after a while. It’s overwhelming for their little bodies. It breaks my heart. One night I popped open a can of ginger ale so roc could stay alert & focused while doing hw. I font buy soda because we don’t drink it. But I always have ginger ale Incase of an upset stomach or something. But yeh I felt so guilty giving it to himm
