In Hopi mythology, a Dawa kachina is a benevolent spirit being, often depicted as a young woman with a beautiful face and flowing hair, who represents the spirit of the morning star. She is associated with the dawn, bringing light and new beginnings to the world. The date of this uniquely beautiful creation is a mystery, but she is signed by the artist from the second mesa. Unfortunately, she sustained some damage her feather headdress (pictured) hence the low price. She's looking for a loving home who will accept her remaining beauty, or a skilled wood worker to restore her. Regardless she is still beautiful and looks amazing on a shelf.
