I hand printed this dye sublimation shirt for myself and I really don't expect to sell it. I'm putting this out there as an experiment. The problem is that it just takes a lot of time to handprint a whole shirt. I have pictures of my other sublimation shirts on my "Meet the Posher" page. Those shirts are not for sale.
In the dye sublimation process the dye is absorbed by synthetic fibers. It doesn't change the way the fabric feels. It remains soft and flexible. It's machine washable and doesn't require any special treatment.
I bought this shirt new and have worn it a few times to see how it rides. It's smooth. It was an ordinary polyester camp shirt with a breast pocket. Now it features gravesites from around North America. Most of the images are in the public domain, but my sister and I own the copyrights for some of the images of smaller sites. Below the church on the front is the graveyard for the men of the 7th Calvary who died with General Custer. Down and across from that is the Civil War era cemetery at Andersonville. At the bottom, on the front, is the burial site of a shaman. On the yoke is a panoramic view of a section of Arlington National Cemetery that appears to be reserved for women. You can read many of the headstones.
I am indebted to Gary Halvorson, Oregon State Archives, staff photographer for many of the images of cemeteries in Oregon.
