Onyx is a type of Agate. It typically has bands that form rings in the stone, which, depending upon how the stone is cut, can reveal striking patterns. There are often large areas of solid-colored stone too, without any bands. These oval Onyx beads are almost entirely solid blue, with only a wisp or two of white.
