This cookbook was published in 1962 with an amazing 1,500 recipes on only 296 pages. There are 20 categories of recipes (many award-winners) and 337 color photos of mouthwatering dishes.
Created by New York News food editors, our moms and grandmoms made many of these recipes, as delicious and enjoyable to make today as they ever were -- from mini-meatballs to your own wedding cake! How about some orange French toast...curried chicken salad...shrimp with green noodles...Indian lamb with spiced rice...3-cheese lasagna...and (yum!) strawberry chiffon pie. Leave room for the marshmallow fudge. It cooks up in 5 minutes!
The 20 categories have sub-sections. For example, BREAD sub-sections are biscuits, breads, coffee cakes, donuts, muffins, and rolls. There are photos of a spice rack and a page on what spices complement what foods.
9" x 12", hardcover, 320 pages. The book's front cover is beige with a blue border (photo above). The book is in very good condition, except for a few worn edges and slightly yellowish pages -- pretty good after 60 years! If books could talk, I bet this one would have a lot to say. Here, have a slice of history!
