orangiepants Hi - apologies for the delay! There are no stains or tears inside. The strap as it is now is about 17 inches. The drop is about 4 inches but looks like it can be extended to 5 inches. The strap is removable so it can be replaced with a longer one or with two if you want to wear it as a backpack. Let me know if you have any additional questions!
