@floralcream I’ll measure it tomorrow. But you can make it as short as you want by adding more holes. You can do this yourself or bring it to a cobbler and they can punch holes for you in a minute

So as it is now the shortest is about 42 inches. But the last photo shows the straps and the holes. Which as I said. A cobbler can punch new holes in a couple of minutes. But if u are handy with tools u need an all and a hammer
