DOPE TAVIO, created by fashion designer Octavio Aguilar, was first introduced in 2016 by his muse, rapper Sharaya J, in her music video BIG. Sharaya J also helped introduce DOPE TAVIO by wearing the brand during NYFW, her red carpet events, and her performances throughout the country. Octavio's inspiration comes from old school New York, where he mixes the 90s club kid and early hip hop vibes together. It's a genderless line with avant guard street wear pieces made with materials such as shoe strings, belts, and safety pins while using vintage denims, camouflage and safety vest as some of its fabrics.
Through his artistic vision, Octavio has created one-of-a-kind pieces that have been sought out by artists such as Erykah Badu, Janet Jackson, Garbage, Kelela, Rico Nasty, Sutan RAJA, Carmen Carrera, Leyna Bloom, and Ty Hunter. He also caught the attention of the iconic Patricia Field, and DOPE TAVIO is now available at her ARTFASHION Gallery in NYC.
