Dorothy Bauer vintage friendly lion

OFFERS ARE ENCOURAGED!!! Hundreds of rhinestones comprise this very friendly lion that is so big that its designer, Dorothy Bauer, has had two horizontal pins attached to on back. One pin is at the top and the other is at the bottom so the piece is stabilized even on a rather lightweight fabric. It features black, smoky and brown rhinestones all prong set and soldered by hand. Clear rhinestones set it’s facial features apart from the rest. This lion epitomizes the fun loving wit that is often found in Dorothy Bauer pieces. This is one of her earlier pieces. Bauer, a former sculptor, founded her company in 1982 and it is said that her firm was recently sold. The BAUER name is in block letters in an oval plaque on the back of the piece. Bauer’s unique style and often whimsical designs are what makes her pieces not just fun to wear but fun to collect as well. Measures 3” by 4.5” and is in excellent condition. the top pin on the back is broken. and the bottom pin is twisted a little but still works. OFFERS ARE ENCOURAGED!!!!
