delmarvadesigns I posted my 1st party as soon as I heard. By party time almost all of my picks wee allocated & I felt bad. Knee should be easy. I need double knee replacement but I’m too young. Just doing a quick arthroscopic roto rooter job to clean up torn cartiledge and whatever else they find. I’m getting 2 weeks off of work so it’s all good.

Jenny (vampiekitty) told me to keep a list of who’s actually helping you spread the word about your party (gets you so much more exposure), follows you (super GREAT) & shares your closet (as bonus, I called it “extra credit”). Helped me tremendously. I didn’t start picking until 2 days before; did most picking day before & day of party when PM announced party

delmarvadesigns 58- Rt is worst. 3 cortisone, 2 synvisc and one Xirletta in last 2 years. Bone on bone. Left only 1 cortisone- also bone on bone. More unstable than painful. Biking as often as I can. Naproxen and KT tape holds me together. I was very heavy (239 on a 5’1” frame) for most of my life. That destroyed my knees.

delmarvadesigns @gogogiglio This isn’t my first rodeo with ortho surgery. Rotator cuff repair in 2005 - brutal recovery and tendon graft in my ankle 2010. The pt wasn’t bad but I was completely non weight bearing - in a wheelchair- for 4 weeks, the boot & crutches for 4 more. This should be nothing like those. Thanks for the well wishes.

gogogiglio @mtcloset88 sorry so late getting back. My little guy (Einstein, doggie) hasn’t been well & I needed to take him to the vet yesterday. Ahhh, love KT tape! It works wonders for my ankles (broke both playing college basketball). Wondering what age and/or pain level is ‘desired’ by your ortho before getting at least one knee done. Don’t answer that, it’s just me being obnoxious and catty. Don’t want that kind of pain w temporary bandaids for you. My opinion only

delmarvadesigns How’s your dog? I hope he is doing better. I’m 58 which is why they won’t do the replacement yet. He said he can get me 30-70% improvement. I’ll take it. Last night I was having stabbing pain just sitting and doing nothing.

gogogiglio @mtcloset88 he’s had diarrhea, been lethargic, not much energy for walks since Wed, which is not like him at all. This is acute. Exam went well, except lower intestines tender; Einstein yelped and tried to nip him. Vet gave him IV fluids at clinic. He prescribed anti-diarrheal, probiotics & cooking a super bland diet. If he’s not better by Mon, x-rays & blood work.

delmarvadesigns I’m sorry to hear that.,I’ve been down this road. Have the run blood work, especially for thyroid function? Checked teeth? When my dog was really sick & not eating the vet said to feed her whatever she would eat. We were buying liverwurst and deli roast beef. Also scrambling fresh eggs for her., That did help with her eating.

delmarvadesigns Scrolled down and saw this. Definitely do the X-rays. One of my dogs chewed a sponge once and it was expanding in her gut. We caught it fast. She was loveable but stupid. She did stuff like this all the time. I doubt a 13 yo dog would eat something like that. Could he have gotten into the trash and eaten a bone?

delmarvadesigns Eating is a great sign. X-rays are cheap~ cheaper than the bloodwork. Definitely follow up. I’m sorry he’s not feeling well. It’s so hard with animals b/c they can’t tell us what’s wrong.

gogogiglio @mtcloset88 last Wednesday he was picking at breakfast, so I knew something was wrong. That’s when the diarrhea started. Since Friday he’s eating boiled chicken and white rice with the meds; he’s eating like before (YAY) but the diarrhea, lethargy and not wanting to go for long walks hasn’t changed.

delmarvadesigns The boiled chicken and rice is the best . I used to use chicken or turkey baby food. Did they give him anything for the diarrhea? Usually the can give an injection of long acting simethicone which soothes the GI pain. There are lots of anti- diarrhea meds they can give. Make sure the do a stool sample to check for parasites.

Einstein did NOT like vet pressing around his intestinal area Friday, so I will ask about it this afternoon. Also bringing “diarrhea” sample. X-rays & blood work today. He’s been on anti-diarrheal tablet 2/day & probiotics 1/day since Friday along with bland diet. So sad for him, no improvement

gogogiglio Did I mention vet gave him IV fluids last Friday? I was SO hopeful he would be back to himself by now. However, blood work will be a good baseline if nothing else. I hope they can figure this out. I climb the walls when a doctor tells me they don’t have a clue….the thought of taking Einstein to another vet devastates me.
