Hey Patricia! Not trying to get fresh with ya, but...Real talk—you are adorable when that smile of yours comes out!
You’re doing great with the modeling. Let’s see that more of that cute smile!

My formula for getting in the “photo zone” is to take obnoxiously silly pictures that make me laugh at them when I take the picture. Then I grab pictures of that smile when it’s fresh. After that I might think of something I’m grateful for and take a few more pics. Then I narrow it down to what I’m going to include.
I really appreciate your thoughtfulness and encouragement, so let me be the one to say—come on rock star! You’ve got this!

@goodtreasures thank you! I am less clueless every time you give input. I’ll probably look back at these days and laugh at myself, but I’ll make sure I’m wearing something to sell so I can grab a good shot. Hey, what app do you use for cropping in photos? At some point I’ll go through my camera roll to see if there’s any good photos of me wearing something I can still sell, with hopefully a cool background already.

@pleegar1 if you mean how do I cut out the background, I’m using clipping magic dot com on the regular computer and then using another photo editing tool to overlay stuff. If you mean how do I make them square, I’m using the square filter function of my phone camera. Sometimes I also edit the photos to cut out where my background doesn’t totally cover the photo. I would start with taking pictures for the specific intended purpose of selling the item. Do it on purpose.

I’d stay away from background stuff until you can get improved lighting and a solid white background to start with. Try if you want, but I think you’d see what I’m saying this for later.

@goodtreasures Brian- does that mean more natural or less natural? Can you be super specific on how to sell on purpose, using the photos I have already, as an example, I know I need to smile and center them. So do you mean take more time? That’s so funny.

@goodtreasures ok, it’s a learning curve. I’m creative but I need to learn.

Are you using a camera that can take square pictures or are you editing the photos afterwards?
I’m a fan of looking directly in the camera. Think of the spark you see in the eye of someone you feel like you’re going to be friends with the moment you see them. Think of that person and look directly into the camera. I’m not very good at this, I’m just trying what feels good to me.

I’m typically taking 20-30 modeling pictures to get 5-8 shots I think are going to be the best fit. Its like shooting hoops. You just keep trying until you get a basket. Thought I have to admit, if this was basketball I would have to shoot more than 20-30 times to get 5-8 baskets! That’s definitely not what I’m good at!

@goodtreasures if you see something priced wrong, be sure to let me know. I don’t get hurt feelings with the truth.

@goodtreasures I quit FB and am a lot happier. I use Instagram like Poshmark, lamely. I just checked my posts, they’re beyond lame. Don’t look at them. pleeeaaase. Thank you for the tips, Lord knows I needed them like a deer needs water. It’s just sooooo time consuming to do a good job. Where do you work?

@goodtreasures excuse me, I shouldn’t say “where do you work” let me rephrase that, what do you do?

@pleegar1 price is relative. Is this for fun and clearing out your closet, or is it a side hustle? Both?

@pleegar1 I do work assembling medical equipment. Ventilator machines.

@pleegar1 trying new things within the boundaries of what is tasteful and acceptable in a certain space is not going to hurt anyone. If you fall down, get up and try again. It’s about recycling old experience and seeing how you can use it in a new area. Give yourself credit for what you know how to do and use it while gaining new skills and finding new tools.

@goodtreasures I’ve had clothes taking up closet space that were too big. I needed clothes that fit right so I’ve been selling and then buying stuff that fits. I was annoyed that I couldn’t wear my investments, which was quickly replaced with joy that I lost weight w/o trying. All I did was quit eating baked potatoes with sausage, cheese, and eggs every morning 😂
Now I’m trying to be smart financially and um with photography.

Sounds like you could use a couple Daves. Lol. Dave Asprey and Dave Ramsey. Both have great podcasts 😉
I think that there is a sweet spot in pricing somewhere between what might be considered too cheap and what a person might ask for if they were intending on getting a premium value for the items respective to the condition.

People who buy nice things have an expectation of paying good money for them. Also I prefer to sell to people who use a different thought process when buying. As a general rule I avoid selling anything at the lowest price. That does not mean I will not take a lower offer. But when the people who are interested in buying are taking action from a higher starting point it usually says something about them as a customer.

I know you’ve heard this a bazillion times-People are just so thrilled to connect with others who are kind, INTELLIGENT, articulate, creative, FUN!etc. I appreciate you. With a lot of pain, my whole life has changed (out of my control more or less)in the last year, for the better. It’s interesting that as popular as you are, you’re part of this season. Classy man!

@pleegar1 thank you Patricia. I have been humbled in more ways than I care to list. Work in progress.
hope you’re doing well in your endeavors whether it be dealing with pain or making room in your closet—in some instances, those are not too different 😉😇.

@pleegar1 If you haven’t heard of those guys I mentioned above, I think you’d really like to listen. Both have YouTube channels and other ways to access their podcasts if you don’t have iPhone/iTunes. One is called bulletproof ( I think you’d get into this one ), and the other Is Dave Ramsey.
