Duck & Fish was there long before people started realizing how versatile this boot can be. The soles and heel on this pair act like a protective shell. You can walk over any obstacles on the ground. If you're looking for surfing booties, this isn't what you're looking for. These are more for hunting and fishing on any terrain. Neoprene is not waterproof.
