duratongear @eli_75 Carry On requirements are unique to the airline however this does fit the carry on requirements for most of the major US airlines like American, Delta, United, and Southwest. The dimensions are 22"x8"x12"

duratongear @tiare_king Hello. This pack should be great for you and maybe your 11 year old. It will likely be a bit big for your 8 year old but could still work. My 9 year old used this same pack design for scouts. It fit him big but since he wasn't maxing out the weight, it worked great. He grew into it.
