EAGLE LETTER OPENER. BRASS. MAKER'S MARK. DATED 7 - 46. VINTAGE

This highly detailed, long, thick, and heavy EAGLE LETTER OPENER is made of heavy brass and depicts an eagle with out stretched wings and neck. The opener blade is domed and is tapered in width. The point is rounded and blunt. The end of the letter opener is curved slightly upward, to aid in the sliding of the instrument underneath the flap of the envelope. DIMENSIONS: TOTAL LENGTH 8 1/4" OPENER BLADE: LENGTH 5 1/4" WIDTH: TOP WIDTH 1" BOTTOM WIDTH 1/4" THICKNESS 1/32" EAGLE: LENGTH 3" WIDTH 3" THICKNESS 1/4" NOTE: This letter opener appears to have been in constant use, by the previous owner. The belly of the eagle is rubbed almost smooth from handling. There is discoloration from handling in some of the creases in the feathers of the eagle. There are a few light scratches on the opener blade as well as a few pin sized depressions. CAUTION: KEEP OUT OF REACH OF YOUNG CHILDREN.
