Antique EAPG Richards and Hartley Glass Co. {1865-1891} No. 500 aka Cupid & Venus pattern clear pressed glass pedestal pitcher. Made between 1875-1880. Has a slight purplish hue from the Manganese in the glass and glows lightly under blacklight. Has medallion with a half naked goddess Venus with a naked Cupid holding on to her leg on both sides of pitcher. Lots of details, beading, scrolls, and ornate handle. 7 ⅞" tall, 4 ½" diameter, 3 ¾" base diameter, and is about 8" handle to spout. Has manufacturing rough mold lines, tool marks, and bubbles. Also has a sanded down mold line on spout, a rough inner mold line with flea bites on rim, an old ⅛" long stress crack that is on inside of glass and only goes halfway through near the spout {it's not on outside} and a small chip and flea bites on base rim ( see last 4 pics as well as all pics ). Still not bad for a useful piece of glass that is over 140 years old!
