catmom2004 Does the blue look more greyish in regular light? I bought the matching necklace & earrings & were surprised that they only look blue in bright sunlight. Then I bought what I thought was the matching bracelet, except it has lucite links all the way around instead of the gunmetal links this bracelet has. The problem with that bracelet is that no matter what color light

catmom2004 your in, it’s definitely an iridescent teal color, which is very pretty, so probably will keep anyway (I haven’t made up my mind since it was quite an expensive purchase). So now I’m wondering about the similar style bracelet that only has color on the front & gunmetal links.

catmom2004 @justgoingnomad Is one part blue & the other half grey as it appears in one picture above or does the entire link turn grey or blue depending on the light you’re in? That’s how the necklace & earrings I have work; they look blue in bright outdoor light, but look grey when indoors (or probably if it’s overcast) & definitely at night & low light settings. I’m planning to wear them to an upcoming wedding & can’t afford the

It just frustrates me that sometimes AB makes pieces that are really hard to match up! You might know what I mean. But your bracelet might be a true match to this necklace & earrings set that I do have, unlike the 1st bracelet I already

catmom2004 bought for kaboodles of $$$. Thanks for being so helpful & patient w/ me & my questions. I just don’t want to buy another bracelet that turns out it doesn’t really match either & I hate having to return things (especially pricey pieces) a Seller is counting on it as being sold! It’s just bad Poshmark manners, I feel, which is why I didn’t return the other bracelet. The more I look at it though,

catmom2004 the more I like it as a unique piece - I haven’t seen any matching pieces to it at all! So depending on your answers, I’ll let you know if I think it will work w/ the necklace & earrings. Did/Do you have a necklace & earrings you wore with it that matched perfectly In style & color? If so, & you still have them, perhaps you can pm me in a Notification with a picture of what they looked like. If they’re

justgoingnomad @catmom2004 I can't say for sure that it will match your set especially having not seen them. However I looked at your purchases and I think I saw the other bracelet you bought. It is definitely not the teal color. Yes AB has every shade of every color. I think they change just slightly each season to make it impossible haha.

justgoingnomad @catmom2004 The first two pictures were taken with flash so that's as bright as it gets. from the side it shifts to frosty grey because the color is on the base of the lucite. The metal itself is a darker gunmetal silver so it's not the regular silver color. I was unable to find any official AB images to give me their color name for this shade unfortunately, but I hope this helps.

catmom2004 @justgoingnomad Thank you. So, let me see if I understand you correctly. It only looks blue in very bright light like my set does; otherwise it looks grey. I fully understand that the rest is a gunmetal color & the necklace has little gunmetal pyramids along the chain & at the back clasp. The pierced earring backs also have little gunmetal pyramids for the catch. So this should match very well. Correct?
May 28Reply
catmom2004
catmom2004 @justgoingnomad Since you can see my purchases, the pictures for the necklace & earrings look like powder blue lucite twists around a center of multiple dark crystals (almost looks druzy). But it does get a darker blue, but not as dark blue as your link appears. But I don’t think I’ll be wearing them outdoors together too often & the 1 colored link is far enough away from the necklace & earrings, it’s probably not noticeable if there’s a slight color difference in indoor lighting.

catmom2004 @justgoingnomad So sorry. Are you also able to see someone’s purchases on another site that begins w/ “E”? If so, I bought the necklace & earrings from mykaylamypup. Is their a way to send you a picture of the set in a PM? Maybe I could try that.

justgoingnomad @catmom2004 I found the seller's page. If you can give me the 12 digit # I can type that in to pull it up and see the listing and her photos
May 29Reply
catmom2004
catmom2004 @justgoingnomad Not sure what you mean by 12 digit code. Is that referring to the item #s - I had to buy all the pieces separately, though just the earrings & necklace from her. Let me check to even see if it’s still on her page marked “sold,” then I’ll look for the item #s & see if they’re 16 digits long. If it’s not the item #s you’re referring to, please let me know ASAP. Thank you so much for all your hard work to help me figure out if this is really the bracelet to the set.

catmom2004 @justgoingnomad & I’ll get right back to you by sometime tomorrow. I’m busy packing & last minute shopping for a weeklong vacation w/ relatives I haven’t seen for awhile & the trip includes a cousin’s daughter’s wedding, but I think I told you about that already. It’s only Monday; the flight out is ridiculously early Thursday morning & I’m bushed already!!!

The Necklace isn’t listed anymore on her page (though the # for that item was: 154282377722. IDK if it will show to you or not, but it’s identical to the earrings in every way, except the

catmom2004 pendant is larger in size. The necklace chain at one end has tiny silver pyramids, just like the earring backs, ~5 pyramids spread ~1/4” apart & the clasp hooks “onto” (not “into”) the chain right before the length you want by booking around the chain before a pyramid of your choice. Since it doesn’t hook into a link; & the only thing stopping it from falling off are those pyramids. It’s a pretty dodgy way to attach the clasp to

It’s a good thing I’m older & won’t be doing any energetic dancing, as I have Asthma & just can’t exert myself to that extent. But I know I will be constantly checking to see if the necklace is still there. If I had more time & money, I’d consider looking for something

Instead, I plan to wear a Pandora bracelet that has silver charms, several of which have blue stones the same matching blue color, or I might switch to my somewhat iridescent Mabe Pearl or a traditional Pearl Jewelry set; I haven’t decided yet). I hope you can see both items, but if

catmom2004 not, know the pendant & earrings are identical, except in size. The chain & pyramids are bright silver, though, not gunmetal as I previously thought, & the middle of the earrings & pendant also have bright silver crystals, not a dark color as I had also thought. So, IDK if the gunmetal will work with this set or absolutely not. Tell me what you think, please.
May 31Reply
justgoingnomad
justgoingnomad @catmom2004 it is hard to tell if it is an exact match because her pictures have a different lighting and none were taken with the flash directly on the lucite. I would say they are quite close in shade if they aren't the same.

catmom2004 @justgoingnomad Thanks so much for your speedy response & advice. I was thinking the same & getting the advice of either my daughter-in-law or some young woman at the front desk as I was thinking I would just take a small sewing kit with me & get her to thread through the links in the chain, so it’s very discreet (clear thread) & knot it several times if I do wear it, that way, it won’t fall off. I just need to be sure I either have a

catmom2004 needle thin enough to go through the links (don’t think they make needles that thin) or she can thread the clear plastic thread through the links herself & tie a really good couple of knots (~3 knots). That should secure it well & she (or another young woman at the front desk) can snip it when we return from the reception. I’m going to bring very fine & thin pair of scissors (that are so fine, they’re surgical grade from when I

justgoingnomad @catmom2004 If you end up with some free time before the actual event I would check with any high-end department store for an extender that has a security clasp on it. They are more likely to have a variety of styles.
May 31Reply
catmom2004
catmom2004 @justgoingnomad I was thinking the same thing, so I called Neiman Marcus, Saks, Nordstrom & our local exclusively high end boutique, Julian Gold, & sent pictures of the necklace to all. They all remembered selling the necklace & earrings, all except Nordstroms, & each of the 3 stores pairing it with a different silver bracelet (not AB, but John Hardy was a popular suggestion). All 3 remembered the problem of not being able

The suggestion from each store to their customers who were adamant on buying it anyway, were told when they asked about the way the chain hooks, that they might want to take it to their jeweler to have them fix it permanently & professionally. They didn’t sell too many of these necklaces, preferring to return all in that style

catmom2004
catmom2004 almost most of the customers who bought the set either returned the entire set (or at the very least kept the earrings only) after hearing the jewelers’ estimates. I’ll have to take it by my jeweler, too, one of the same high/end jewelers these same ladies went to I’m sure, as there’s only a handful of the very best jewelers in my very large city (in the Top 10 U.S. cities).
