EUC-SPOLETO - 9.5” plate 2018 - Featuring the elements of a perfect Italian meal

Created for a competition for Brazil’s “Spoleto”chain of restaurants, this winning piece was designed by Brazilian artist Lorena Giosti Illustration features cheese, sliced tomatoes, a basil leaf, splash of olive oil and everything else necessary to create a fantastic pasta meal Mani e Piatti – Lorena Giostri, freelance designer and illustrator, born in Aracruz (ES); lives in Curitiba (PR). “Since the theme of the contest was “Italian cuisine inspires”, my illustration directly refers to the incredibly talented hands of chefs and grandmothers who love Italian food. And also to all those who transform simple ingredients into a wonderful dish that leaves a lasting impression. Therefore, I chose a clean and easy-to-understand layout, with essential ingredients in cooking, in addition to using soft and dynamic curves to show all the care that hands take with the food. The colors chosen are strong and contrasting, making the dish more cheerful without being obvious and matching the modern feel of the rest of the art”.
