It is TOTALLY not what it sounds like, the game is actually super cute and fun EXPLODING KITTENS IS A HIGHLY STRATEGIC, KITTY-POWERED VERSION OF RUSSIAN ROULETTE!!! Basically, if you draw an Exploding Kitten, you lose and you are full of loser sad sauce All the other cards in the deck help you mitigate your risk of drawing one of those dreadful Exploding Kittens! IF YOU DON’T EXPLODE, YOU WIN!!!! GREAT GAME TO PLAY WITH FAMILY AND FRIENDS (but they REALLY need to be the kinds of friends and family that will take it well if you TOTALLY play them DIRTY in the game!) EXPLODING KITTENS IS JUST A FUN CARD GAME FOR ANYONE WITH A CHEEKY SENSE OF HUMOR WHO ENJOYS RELYING ON BOTH LUCK AND STRATEGY TO DEFEAT OPPONENTS BEST FOR AGE 7 AND UP (truly depends on the child though-more about temperament than age) I bought this and was SO EXCITED to play with my kids and never once did they ever even entertain me!
