A stunning Indian Golden Oriole Bird (Oriolus kundoo) created by Karl Ens. The life-sized porcelain bird stands upon an elaborately detailed tree stump base. The bird is a rare Figural piece very lifelike and beautifully modeled. Its exquisitely laid out, with leaves, and in a natural setting. The coloration and glaze make the bird truly look life-like. The bird has a yellow body, yellow-green black-feathered wings and tail, green eye feathers, green beak and feet; and its perched upon a white tree trunk with leaves. This oriole bird figurine is of exceptional quality and is finished in a shiny glaze. On the undersides is the authentic Ens factory mark. A wonderful addition for any Karl Ens or antique German porcelain figurine collector.
Maker: This was produced by the Karl Ens Porcelain Factory of Volkstedt, Germany during the early 20th century. It retains its green windmill mark used by the Karl Ens Porcelain Factory, dating the bird to some time between World War I and World War II.
