Pristine condition Scottish copper hand-coloured engraving by James Hope Stewart in 1836 within a 19th century antique shadowbox wooden frame with gilt embellishments. James Hope Stewart of Slodahill (2 August 1789 – 20 July 1856) was a Scottish naturalist history, known for his paintings for the prominent Sir William Jardine's 40 volume series, the Naturalist's History. Original 19th century Shadow Box Frame with gilt adornment adds value but does not accompany the appraised value of the double print. Provenance: Acquired, Imported, and purchased as a set (despite age difference/discrepancy) with subsequent listing in Glasgow, Ireland, U.K.
