@randb3373 On Eddie Bauer's Website the measurements for men's jackets are as follows for a Medium but I will double check for you when I get home :)
M 39 - 41in (chest) 32 - 34 in(waist) 15 - 15.5in (neck) 33.5 - 34in (sleeves)

So it looks like straight across from underarm to underarm is about 19 inches laying flat from the front.
