Edina & Lena Hand Knit Fair Isle Slip Over Vest - Cotton, Vintage 70s UK - Med.

This sweater is a work of art. It is a hand knit vest made in finest gauge cotton yarn in England in the late 1970s designed by Edina Ronay for Edina & Lena. It measures 19” pit to pit x and 22.5” long in front measured at shoulder seam to hem It measures 20” long in the front measured in center front of the curved neckline to the hemline. So the neckline dips sown 2.5 inches. Is is a 36: circumference bust. Being a knit there is some stretch, It is shown on a mannequin with a 36” bust. It has a gentle loose and comfortable fit. It can be worn as an overblouse hanging straight or blouson. I think it would look lovely over a soft rayon skirt, a simple linen skirt or over a pair of loose fitting linen pants. A straw hat would be a nice complimentary accessory. This vest can be worn solo or over a light blouse - possibly light cotton voile or chiffon or a Liberty of London cotton floral print if you can find a compatible print. These fair Isles are beautiful combined with floral prints. The condition is perfect. I do not think this vest was ever even worn! I have more info on Edina & Lena but it will not fit here.
