A rare, vintage Egyptian Revival brass stand with Art Deco influence. This is such an unusual piece. It can hold an orb or a small vessel, but is perfectly capable of standing alone. It’s interesting and unusual.
Egyptian Revival has been present in European architecture since the early 19th century, and experienced a renewed, global style craze following the discovery of the tomb of “King Tut” 99 years ago (Nov. 1922!)
The style was not terribly accurate, historically speaking. The ram’s heads on this piece may represent Khnum, one of the earliest Egyptian gods, who was revered as the creator of children, as well as of other Egyptian gods.
The three rams’ heads on the stand are each 2” across. The stand is 7” tall. Please see photos for measurements; the interior diameter of the stand is about 3 7/16”.
This is a vintage piece with natural patina that will not be altered/removed before shipping.
