Description:
Made by Shigaraki potters, Elemense’s Pottery Stone Diffusers bear the appearance of river stones, but possess the porous quality of ceramics, absorbing and gradually radiating diffuser oil for a long-lasting scent. Collect all three shapes—Round, Angular and Elongated—for an organic assortment of complementary forms.
The Pottery Stone Diffusers are designed to be used with Elemense Diffuser Oil. Other diffuser oils may leave an oily residue on the stone's surface or discolor it permanently.
Measurements:
No. 1 Round – 3" x 2.5" x 1.3”
History:
The Pottery Stone Diffusers are designed by Taku Shinomoto, Tortoise General Store’s co-owner. Shinomoto lives in Venice, California, having moved to the United States from Tokyo, where he worked as a furniture designer for Idee. Since then he has designed Hasami Porcelain, a brass line called S/N, as well as other products in Japan. He continues to design furniture in Los Angeles.
The Elemense is an incense line created by Nippon Kodo, Japan's oldest incense company known as the original incense makers for the Emperor of Japan.
Shigaraki potters make the Pottery Stone Diffusers. Shigaraki is one of the six ancient kilns of Japan still used today.
