European ANTIQUE Double Carved Shell Cameo Brooch ~VICTORIAN Carved Shell Brooch

Fabulous, European, Gold Tone Metal and Hand Carved, ANTIQUE SHELL CAMEO, Double Pin Brooch from the late 1800s. Measuring 1" x 1 1/4" x 1/4" deep, this rare Victorian brooch may have started its life as two separate collar pins. In each cameo, a woman, in long dress, stands upon a plateau with a cypress tree, overlooking a village in the distance. Each Italian Victorian shell cameo is bezel set in a gold-tone frame. A twisted ribbon design delicately frames both cameos. The original C-clasp has been jeweler replaced by an early European Style Rollover Clasp for extra security. Nice antique patina. No damage to shell cameos although one has a more visible carved village scene than the other. Upon magnification, one may also see minute areas of jeweler solder on the underside of frame. This in no way detracts or can be seen when worn.
