I absolutely HATE when ppl knowingly try to pass these cheap counterfeits off to unsuspecting Buyers!! The fact that I told the Seller TWICE & she deleted both listings makes it VERY obvious she was intentionally trying to mislead people!

@tifmiller hello there! Re: your Essex. It is a Dooney Essex in taupe. Dooney mushroom is a darker muddier brown. To date the bag is almost impossible but estimate between 1983 (when the AWL collection was released) to about 1995. The Essex was/is a hugely popular bag for Dooney and sold briskly.

@tifmiller as to price, you have overpriced it. No one is going to pay $90 for a bag that sells everywhere for $20-$50 all day long. It might help you to re photograph the purse after you have stuffed it-it currently has a battered misshapen appearance. Also, a shot of the tag reassures buyers that the purse is authentic. @hethurz32 sometimes Posh removes the listing but more often the seller is moved to take the listing down by way of group pressure. Moreover, if a fake slips by me and gets sold, I inform the buyer so they have full disclosure. 😊

Instead of asking for the cloth tag & serial number... I started asking them to provide authentication. I have had more people on eBay have a red flag go up! Then they educate themselves & thank me for making them realize it is a knock-off!

There ARE Doonies that have a fake tag, but I haven't seen enough on the market to perceive it as a huge problem. This are business transactions that faith and grandma have nothing to do with. @jenlaura the ampersand is open in a real fob. The letters are crisp and individually defined. Counterfeiters take their image from the Dooney tag, which has a closed ampersand. Also, the duck does not have a pointy head. 😜

@eyeoftheleopard My sister bought a DB small bag. It has 4 feet and a DB brass emblem outside. Inside is a black DB leather tag that appears to be sewn to the lining. It just says Dooney & Bourke ? Is it a fake ? Hop`e not, but have to ask ?
