FRENCH RAGS Vintage knit pencil skirt

Vintage 1980’s FRENCH RAGS brand stretchy sweater skirt. Made in the USA. Tag says size 2 but fits like a medium, see measurements in pictures. Care tag states “dry clean only”. There is no material tag but I did find the same skirt with a tag that reads 100% Rayon. I have safely hand washed rayon garments in cold water and hung or laid flat to dry, you may attempt at your own risk. In great vintage condition with no visible wear. This skirt has a lot of stretch; the waist should comfortably stretch to 17” ( double for circumference) and the hips and bottom hem to 23” ( double for circumference). This is a woven sweater style pencil skirt and it feels heavy and luxuriously slinky but because it’s rayon there is a lightness to it and a cool feeling to the touch, making it suitable for spring and summer wear as well as colder seasons ( paired with tights!) I’ve added a pic showing the sunlight coming through so you can see the weave, however I don’t believe you can see through it when wearing. French Rags was a very chic brand in the eighties and made really quality pieces that had an artsy, Bohemian flair. I can picture Molly Ringwald’s character in Pretty in Pink wearing this brand. Pop on some granny style boots, a long blazer and a little brimmed, felt hat!
