Fabulous Antique/VTG Silverplated Hammered Embossed Floral Repousse Ice Bucket This is a beautiful and old Vintage Silverplated, Hammered and Embossed Floral Repousse Ice Bucket. The piece features intricately hand forged floral and leaf sculpting with a heart repeat around the perimeter. It is flanked on the top by two ball attached round hanging side ring handles. Repoussé, derived from the French word meaning “pushed up,” involves hammering the metal from the back to form a raised design on the front. This technique is often used in conjunction with chasing, where the metal is worked from the front to refine the design and add details. This ice bucket measures approximately 8.5" handle to handle by 8" high. It is in good vintage/antique condition with wear associated with its age. It has a lovely, very aged and worn patina with some tarnish that could be polished up if so desired. This is a wonderful relic from a faraway place - both in distance and time - that would make a lovely addition to any eclectic and bohemian environment. This is such a fabulous piece. HAVE FUN!
