Hi Kim, I apologise for not emailing you back but replying through the comments section instead. it is held by spaghetti straps. the hanger straps are still attached. This items is brand new with straps and has not been altered in any way. The distance from the begining of the strap to the waist band is about nine inches. I can post a picture for reference of you like.
