Topaz-like Crystal 14K HGE Ring

A 3/4 inch x 5/8 inch faceted Topaz colored crystal (probably a Lucite-like plastic) is set into a 18K heavy gold plated ring. The sides of the ring has open design lines tapering from about 3/4 inch to 1/8 inch wide. The ring is marked 18K HGE - which mean 18K heavy gold electroplated, and process used in the mid 1930s-60s. The ring can squeeze to be a size 5 1/2, but it is cut in the back so it can be made much larger. There is also a 'A" in a circle - the designer mark for Arthur M Anderson. The gem looks nice, but the edges do show scratches and wear (see photos) Arthur M Anderson made jewelry (mostly costume) starting in the 1930s. They were based in Joliet IL RG-007
