funkypineapple @kteague5167 — I love how you have this beginning of your closet organized. Very nice and well thought out. I like this chart because people don’t often know the business aspect. Sometimes, however, I have had women make very low offers and I was a bit, matter of fact, with them.. only to find out later they were saving all they could to buy a treat for themselves >>>>>

funkypineapple @kteague5167 and they didn’t know a name brand from Kmart. If I get a dress or whatever cheap cheap I do like to put that in my ledger so if someone wants something & I feel they are being honest and they can’t afford my price I will let it go. I will figure that into money I have made & tho it is a little bit of a loss financially- I have a life long customer. Just wanted to say that as someone who has been here since 2014!

kteague5167 @funkypineapple Fabulous advise. I appreciate you taking the time to share ur business sense with me. Yes, that is my plan. I also have several items I plan on simply offering as BOGO items (the free ones), as something neat/usable, but not what I would feel is much above $5. Those would be the 2nd free ones.

funkypineapple @kteague5167 .you have a great business sense about you, I'm jealous, I have learned the hard way, still learning. Ladies who have signs all over their closet belittling everyone, even those who are not trying to lowball but are just poor and want one thing they see and when they try they get kicked to the curb for for their lot in life. I love all things you have done in your closet. It is beautiful and you will do very well. If you have any business tips PLEASE shoot them my way! Mandy

kteague5167 @funkypineapple You are so kind. You have a great, identifiable business product with the fun pineapple flare! Very catchy. From there, keeping it real will ensure success.

kteague5167 @funkypineapple Though I am only a three week old posher, I dropped a flat $1,000 in PM updating my fall/holiday wardrobe (~12 orders--all from different poshers). My PM learning curve has been bittersweet. While the convenience of shopping anytime/any product and trying on in privacy of own home is uptick.

kteague5167 @funkypineapple The downside is how many items have arrived 1) under-described (pockets are faux, padded shoulders, stretchy material, etc), 2) in poorer condition than described (piling, pet hair, tired fabric, snags, chinks in shoes, dirty, etc), or 3) straight up broken (missing jewel on shoe, run in fabric, pin holes, large holes, stains, marks, open seems, broken zipper, etc).

kteague5167 @funkypineapple It's like a glorified thrift store, which is super disappointing. The majority of the PM sellers have NO idea of the actual product they're selling (actual eyes on it) :/

funkypineapple @kteague5167 ..I must admit I slacked off with measurements, accurate descriptions ( as you saw yourself ) only hurting myself. It has been a horrible 2 years. My family lost everything in the floods here in North Carolina in 2016 , parents can not start over they are 78. I have a lot facing me with them getting older. I have decided I will go back and measure all things and have better photo's. When I concentrated on that I did amazingly well. So, it's time to step it up, for me....xx

funkypineapple @kteague5167 true. My website is all drop ship and I hate not being able to see items first hand.. but people are buying and i need it right now.

kteague5167
kteague5167 @funkypineapple I understand bundle discounts are the thing PM promotes. However, they are a disadvantage to the PM buyer IF the seller includes a sub-par product. As, PM predominately settles cases by instructing buyers to return the entire order. I take exception to this policy as bad business practice.

kteague5167 @funkypineapple In my case, I spent A LOT if time searching for a particular cardigan (color, length, style, price). I added a $5 scarf, and simple boots to not only get a better bundle price but to save shipping. Well, the scarf arrived with five major, unreversible, large snags AND a run in the smooth fabric.

kteague5167
kteague5167 @funkypineapple I specifically told PM i was rejecting the scarf on principle (not monetary), but had no qualms with and desired to keep the other two items of the three item bundle (though one item's sleeve's seem had a 3" opening at the cuff. Boo)

kteague5167
kteague5167 @funkypineapple PM's case resolution was for me (the buyer) to send back the entire order/bundle in order to get the refund for the $5 scarf (wrapped up in the ~$50 order). I flat told them I will bite the $5 in that case, as 1) I spent WAY too much time to find the cardigan (also in the bundle), and 2) even if the seller was willing to resell two of the items to me, then tge $6.49 PM shipping would cost more than the scarf I took issue with!

funkypineapple @kteague5167 ....OMG....I haven't had that happen nor thought about it that way....that is so not good on Posh's part. That would leave a bad taste in anyone's mouth. Thanks for telling me that I don't know if I would have ever realized that or not.

kteague5167 @funkypineapple PM's return decision translates to Buyer Beware! As, what quality, large-scale company requires a buyer to return the entire purchase order when one item in that purchase is defective (or not as described/pic) by seller?! Unacceptable.
Oct 07Reply
kteague5167
kteague5167 @funkypineapple Hence, my goal as a PM buyer is to fin quality sellers. And, ad a PM seller, to be a quality seller (good pix/descriptions & product matches pic/descript--plus NOT smelly/hairy).

funkypineapple @kteague5167 ...I love the photo's of each item this seller has: @ houseofthreads The pics are so perfect. I want to get my photo's like this from now on.

kteague5167 @funkypineapple Agreed. I bought a cardigan & sweater from @houseofthreads . I gave her a 5-star rating for her detailed pix/description actually matching the items I received. She also had good communication & lovely packaging. Definitely a quality PM seller.

kteague5167 @demetraak47 Thank you for sharing this post. It means a lot to me. A posher's time is valuable. They don't need to waste it on fine-tooth checking an item, then returning it because the seller didn't properly do their job listing it--not to mention if they have to return the whole bundle in order to return the one item that was Not As Described or Damaged. Also, congratulations on being recommended by Poshmark as a Suggested User! Quality sellers deserve recognition.

kteague5167 @ady67 I appreiate your look through my beginning closet, and sharing this post that I am open to offers. I believe this is the strength of Poshmark's platform given retail giants do not offer this price purchasing format.
