First Phase Silver Concho Belt This is a very nice belt. A examination of each piece shows, the stamping and border holes that are associated with the older belts. The surface of each piece is what you would expect, forming a silver sheet from an ingot. It is relatively small for an early belt, but very well done. Underneath, the joining of the copper strips, and the bar of the buckle appear to have been done by "forge soldering"-- a technique that was abandoned by 1900 when more modern soldering materials were available.
