I am VERY fond of Tanzanite. It was the first gem my hubby gave me when we started dating; it has often been my profile pic, and you could say it is my absolute favorite gemstone. Tanzanite is ALWAYS heated - no matter what sellers may tell you. The heating takes out the natural brown/maroon colors and leaves the blue and violet ones we know and love. That turns it from trichroic to dichroic. And It only comes from Tanzania. No other mines have been found on earth. So the price keeps going up and larger stones become rarer. This 4.85 Carat stone is IF (Loupe Clean)! It measures 11.92 X 9.55 X 5.71 mm and is a fancy oval cut. It is a gorgeous shade of blue - violet and is a good size to be made into a ring or a pendant.
