Flygors Coquille vase 1961, very thick glass, very wide clear at base, tapering in then flaring out at top to trefoil lip. Great example of the Coquille line, most of which was designed by Paul Kedelv who was head of design at Flygors from 1949 - 1956 and created the Coquille line. This vase is 1961 so was after Kedelv left but before company was sold to Orrefors in 1974. Base is clear glass solid which becomes the casing as vase becomes black and tapers to a narrow body that flares at top to irregular trefoil top with irregular black shaded by white then clear rim. Shape of top follows the outline of center decoration and white shading. Piece is signed "Flygors Coquille" 1962, date of manufacture. Measures approximately 12 1/4 inch at tallest point, approx. 3 3/4 inches wide at top and base. Stem is approx. 1 inch wide at narrowest point. There are minor scratches to the base from normal wear and tear but signature, date are clear. No damage, cracks repairs.
