Folk art, bird pencil holder

Vintage, handmade, wooden pencil/note holder: Circa 1950's. Hand-carved by my uncle who was a railroad engineer. It has a clothes pin to hold notes & 2 holes for pen/pencils. I am down-sizing & no longer have a desk to set it on. We have enjoyed it for many years & now passing it on. Bird is 6" x 7", base is 4" x 4".
