She is depicted carrying a small lamb in a basket on her back to show her shepherdess talents. She would be perfect to place with the shepherds in your Nativity scene. Miriam is crafted of specially formulated high-density nearly indestructible and child-friendly polymer resin that captures the original sculpture's fine details and resists chipping and breaking. It is hand-painted in the rich colors of Tuscany and antiqued for a distinctive carved wood appearance. Signed by master sculptor Elio Simonetti and marked with the Fontanini seal of authenticity (small fountain mark), serial number 197, year of production 1983 and country of origin Dep(ose) Italy. Depose' is equivalent to a trademark. During the 1980s, Fontanini replaced the spider mark with a small fountain. Fontanini means small fountain.
