This octagonal wood from holds a print of "Grinny" by Winold Reiss, first published in 1917 (sometimes also referred to as "Ginny"). I don't know the date of this print, but it would not surprise me if it dates from that era. The original frame is rimmed in red, surrounded by a darker gilded paint. Sticker on the back from Ashford Picture Frames in Portland, Oregon - undated, but it has the look of being c.1920s. Frame measures 11.75" across.
Winold Reiss later became well known for painting the Native American images in the Great Northern Railway calendars.
Frame is in well-worn condition, particularly at the edges but also in places in the red - see photos. Print itself is in excellent vintage condition.
