Each framed print measures 14 in wide, by 20 in tall. This particular print, stems from a series of paintings Van Gogh worked diligently on, starting in August 1888, in preparation for the arrival of his dear friend, Paul Gauguin. Van Gogh’s vision for this series, where he planned to create 12 works, that would be used to decorate the Yellow House, which he used as a studio, to create a symphony of blue and yellow. It came to be the series from which he achieved world wide recognition and identification as a modern, post impressionist painter and artist. To manifest the series, Vincent had to race against the changing seasons, therefore he was not successful, resulting in only 4 sunflower paintings to be completed, before he suffered the mental breakdown in December of that year.
