Frankoma 1969 Laid in a Manger Christmas Nativity Collector Plate Signed Jesus This Frankoma Collector's Plate is part of Frankoma Pottery's Christmas Collection. They were based in Oklahoma, USA and released 1 plate design a year to add to the collection from 1965-1997. This one was released in 1969 and is called "Laid in a Manger" It features a nativity scene with Mary laying baby Jesus down in the manger surrounded by farm animals. The Star of Bethlehem is also seen at the top of the plate. Its a beautiful style plate with a white glaze over a terracotta colored plate (they were actually made from Oklahoma native Sapulpa Clay). This results in the edges of the designs being highlighted by the plate color. The plate is marked Frankoma on the back along with JF 1969 and signed John Frank. There are also holes in the back to allow for the plate to be easily hung with a wire. Please see the photos for more details. The plate measures approximately 8.25" across.
