Frankoma Platter 17” 94P Vintage Graphics Brown.
Research indicates that this is likely a rare vintage platter made in Oklahoma. Really neat wagon wheel prairie green graphics along sides - see pictures.
This is a 17" serving platter by Frankoma Potteries, Sapulpa, OK, c. 1954-80. The design (No. 94P) is part of Frankoma's Wagon Wheels dinnerware collection, and features an incised cattle brand motif around the outer wall of the piece. The glaze applied is known as Prairie Green and appears as a variegated (rutile) green and tan color. The 17" platter is pictured and describe in the reprint of Frankoma Pottery's 1951 catalog found on pg. 147 of the 4th printing (2004) of Gary V. Schaum's "Collector's Guide to Frankoma Pottery 1993 through 1990." The piece is made from Frankoma's terracotta-red Sapulpa clay base and it bears the company's incised hallmark with an oblong "O." It also bears the incised design number "94P."
